Mergers and acquisitions involving foreign companies are on the rise in Brazil.
Cross-border deals represented 40% of the total in the first half of the year, up from 32% in the same period of 2025 and 26% in 2024, according to a survey issued by Acorn Advisory, a São Paulo-based M&A boutique.
At BRL1.4 billion ($280 million), the average size of cross-border transactions was also five times bigger than that of domestic deals, the study found.
Local investors and analysts, empirical evidence, corroborate the findings.
“We are observing a sustained rebound in cross- border deal appetite, with international investors re‑engaging in Brazilian opportunities and domestic corporates actively pursuing global expansion strategies,” Martha Leonardis,
CEO of Brazilian investment firm NewCo,
told LatinFinance.
